2008 Annual DeJunking Days!
The annual DeJunking Days is to provide Delta Township residents with an opportunity to recycle additional household goods. All items that can be, are then placed back into the community
2008 Event Dates:
Thursday, May 15th (2-8 p.m.)
Friday, May 16th (1-5 p.m.)
Saturday, May 17th (9 a.m. - 4 p.m.)
Vouchers are required and may be obtained free of charge from the Clerk’s Office beginning April 28th through May 17th during normal business hours. Extended hours are available May 13th and 15th until 6:00 p.m. and May 17th from 9-12 noon. One (1) yard waste voucher is issued for unlimited use and two (2) recycling vouchers are issued for two DeJunking trips during the event.
Residents must provide two forms of I.D., a driver license or state I.D. card and one of the following: Delta voter I.D. card, Delta water/sewer bill, or Delta property tax bill, all of which provide proof of residency.
Montevideo Fire
The Delta Township Fire Department was called to a fire at an apartment building on Montevideo drive shortly after 3:00 AM on Thursday, April 24. The Delta Township Fire Department was assisted through Automatic Mutual Aid by the Looking Glass Regional Fire Authority and the Lansing Township Fire Department. The final fires at the apartment building were extinguished late Friday afternoon. Damage is estimated at approximately $1 Million. Delta Township Fire Department investigators are working diligently in conjunction with DTN insurance investigators to determine the cause and origin of the fire. At this time it does not appear that any malicious act caused the fire.
Sidewalk Construction on Creyts Road
The walk over the detention basin on South Creyts Road is in place. Railings will be placed along both sides. Pictures below:

Cornerstone University’s Professional & Graduate Studies Division is opening a new campus in Delta Township.
Due to increased enrollment growth over the last year, the Professional & Graduate Studies Division of Cornerstone University has opened a new facility at 6452 Millennium Drive, Suite 180 on the west side of Lansing. The new home is located on the corner of Creyts Road and St. Joseph Highway. This new facility will provide classrooms and office space for the expanding enrollment for the Professional & Graduate Studies adult accelerated programs in business, human services and education. Degrees offered in these areas include Associate, Bachelors and Masters. Cornerstone University will be planning a dedication and open house on Wednesday, May 21st from 4:00 to 5:30 pm. The Lansing community is welcome to stop out and learn more about Cornerstone University during this celebration.

The Delta Township Board has established the Delta Township Government Youth Council (DTGYC) to promote youth involvement in local government through active participation and the mutual exchange of ideas and experience. More detaisl to follow soon!
The second annual Delta Township Community Awards Reception and 45th Anniversary Celebration, sponsored by the Delta Township Board of Trustees, was held on Tuesday, October 9, 2007, at the Sheraton Lansing Hotel in Delta Township. The event recognized and celebrated the accomplishments of Delta Township citizens and businesses by awarding the Citizen of the Year, Community Enhancement, Business Partnership, Anniversary and Legacy Awards. Delta Township is now placing
a higher priority on creating a safer pedestrian and bicycle friendly community. Delta Township has both a Non-Motorized Transportation Plan, adopted in April, 2005, and a Sidewalk Plan, revisions adopted in 2003 and again in 2007.
