Neighborhood Beautification Grant Program

Framework & Guidelines

Purpose

To provide funding assistance and promote neighborhood engagement by encouraging neighbors to participate in beautification projects at entrance points of their respective neighborhoods. Qualified projects will be eligible for a 50% match up to a maximum of $500. Examples of eligible projects include:

Construction and installation of new neighborhood entrance signs
Rehabilitation of existing entrance signs
Enhanced landscaping in public/common areas or around entrance signs
Lighting improvements at entrance signs
Public benches

Grant Projects

Projects must be located in Delta Township and clearly visible from the public right-of-way. Projects must benefit the entire neighborhood and the general public. Proposed projects that solely benefit an individual or select group will not be eligible. Projects must be completed within 12 months of the grant approval. Grant awards will be based on the timing of applications received, and annual grant funds available. Grant funds will be included in the Township’s annual operating budget which is approved by the Township Board. The Township has appropriated $3,000 for this grant program annually.

Funding Guidelines

Grant project funding requires at least an equal (1:1) match from the neighborhood group or association and may not exceed 50% of the total cost of the project, or a maximum of $500. The intent of this grant program is not to completely fund projects, but to assist with as many projects as possible throughout the community. To be eligible for reimbursement, the neighborhood group must have the following:

Approved grant application
Completion of the approved project
Submission of all expenditures related to the project and proof those expenditures have been paid
Submission of before/after pictures to the Township

Application Process

Completed applications should be submitted to the Delta Township Accounting Dept. All applications received will be reviewed within 30 days of receipt. Once a grant has been awarded, the project lead person will be notified via email. Program Changes

Delta Township reserves the right to make changes to the Neighborhood Entrance and Beautification Grant Program at any time.
