Public Safety Facility Project

Construction for the New Sheriff Substation has officially begun, and the new facility will take approximately 18 months to complete. The Eaton County Sheriff’s Office -Delta Patrol has been relocated to a new temporary facility off North Canal Rd. In November, the Delta Township Board approved the construction award in an amount not to exceed $14.5 million. The previous May, voters approved a bond proposal of up to $16 million to fund the project with an estimated 1.1218 millage rate for taxpayers.
Happily, the Township was able to keep the project under budget resulting in a reduced millage rate of 0.9591; a $1.5 million savings for taxpayers.

Temporary Public Safety Facility Information:

The Delta Patrol’s temporary location is closed to walk-in traffic for the duration of this project.

For non-emergency services, please call 517-372-8217 and a deputy will come to you or will make arrangements to meet at the Delta Township Administration Building.
For gun permit applications, please drop paperwork off in the blue drop box located on the north side of the Delta Township Administration Building at 7710 W. Saginaw Highway.
