What is the Homeowner Rehab & Repair Program?

The Township was awarded a $500,000 Homeowner Rehab & Repair Program Grant to help preserve owner-occupied homes and neighborhoods by helping residents who would not otherwise be able to afford home repair projects. The grant program will allow residents to make critical repairs to meet code standards, resulting in safer and more secure homes for residents. With support from the grant, residents will be able to stay in their homes longer and continue to live in Delta Township Income-eligible homeowners in select areas will be able to apply for program assistance to cover up to $40,000 in eligible home repair activities. Projects up to $10,000 will be considered a grant; projects from $10,001 to $40,000 will be considered a zero-interest loan, forgivable after five years. Eligible projects include interior and exterior improvements to meet applicable code requirements, such as roof repairs, siding, windows, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and insulation.
