GENERAL FACTS
- Our Firefighters generally work 9-10 shifts per month
- We are a young department with opportunities to train and build on your talents
- In 2016, Delta Township, in partnership with LCC, built the premier live burn training facilities in the state to provide Delta Firefighters with robust fire training.
- In 2017, Delta Township was successful in adding six additional fire positions through the Federal SAFER grant in order to better service the community.
- In 2018, Delta Township contracted with Backing the Badge to make sure any firefighter who may need mental health support is provided immediate support.
- Must possess High School Diploma or GED
- Be at least 18 years old
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- Candidates must have knowledge and ability to operate all emergency medical and fire equipment.
- Candidate must possess and maintain a valid State of Michigan paramedic license
- Must have completed State of Michigan Firefighter I and II and Operational Level Hazmat certification
- Must successfully complete required written and practical testing to be considered for an interview.
