FALL (DELEAFING) YARD WASTE RECYCLING
Dates: Saturday, October 17 through Saturday, December 5, 2020 (Yard waste will not be accepted until April 2020)
Times: Wednesday 12-8 p.m in October, 12-6 p.m in November and December
Saturdays 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Fee: Free to *Delta Township residents on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Yard waste fees will apply on Tuesdays.
*Delta Township residents must provide a photo I.D. and voter I.D. card, property tax notice, or a township water/sewer bill to participate in the Fall Yard Waste Recycling Program.
REMINDERS: Paper bags, cardboard boxes, or plastic tubs may be used. NO PLASTIC BAGS ALLOWED! Tree limbs must not exceed four feet in length or four inches in diameter. For a listing of acceptable materials taken at the Recycling Center visit here.
OTHER THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND:
- Must unload your own yard waste
- Unlimited number of visits permitted
- Trucks/Trailer loads must be level with sides, no deeper than 3 feet
- No trailers bigger than 6 X 10 (No Dump Trailers)
- Large bulk loads should use Granger Recycling on Wood Rd. (Fees apply)
- Services can be refused if not compliant with guidelines
General YARD WASTE ACCEPTED APRIL 1- DECEMBER 5 FOR DELTA TOWNSHIP RESIDENTS ONLY.
Yard waste bins are removed from the Recycling Center during winter months. Yard Waste accepted include items such as; branches no longer than four feet in length and four inches in diameter, grass clippings, brush, and twigs. Yard waste may be transported in paper bags, cardboard boxes, plastic tubs, or branches and twigs may be bundled. With the exception of paper yard waste bags, containers are to be dumped. Township staff may not always be available to assist residents. Lawn and leaf bags are available for purchase at many local retailers. NO PLASTIC BAGS ARE PERMITTED! There is a charge for this service that depends on the amount of yard waste to be disposed of which will be determined at the Recycling Center.
Rates: $1.25 per 30-gallon paper bag or $8.50 per cubic yard.

S10 Small Pickup – $12 Level Load (1.4 cubic-yard)
Full-Size Pickup – $23 Level Load (2.7 cubic-yard)
Mini Van with Open Back – $8.50 Per Foot (1 cubic-yard)
Based on Per Foot Average, Approximate Depth (compressed)
4’ x 6’ – $6 per foot (.9 cubic yard/foot)
4’ x 8’ – $8 per foot (1.2 cubic-yard/foot)
5’ x 8’ – $10 per foot (1.5 cubic-yard/foot)
6’ x 10’ – $15 per foot (2.2 cubic-yard/foot)
The size of loads will be restricted as follows

Thursday, April 30, 2-8 p.m. (Residents only)
Delta Township Recycling Center – 5717 Millett Highway
Township Residents can drop off yard waste free of charge.
Township residents must provide a photo I.D. and voter I.D. card, property tax notice, or a township water/sewer bill to participate in the Free Yard Waste Day program free of charge.
Grass clippings, brush, branches (no longer than 4 feet long and 4 inches in diameter. YARD WASTE ACCEPTED APRIL THROUGH THE BEGINNING OF DECEMBER – DELTA TOWNSHIP RESIDENTS ONLY. REMINDER: Yard waste may not be brought to the site in plastic bags. Yard waste bags or recyclable containers are best practices in transporting yard waste to the Recycling Center for disposal.
The size of loads will be restricted as follows:
- No larger than 5 feet x 8 feet or the back of a full-size pickup
- No tandem trailers or cube-type vehicles will be permitted
