Register to Vote and Vote on Election Day!
All citizens have a vote and choice as long as you’re “Registered to Vote”! Voter Registration can be handled through any Secretary of State’s Office in Michigan or at the branch located in Delta Township at 5827 West Saginaw Hwy., or at the Clerk’s Office. Name and address changes must be made through the S.O.S. office, as it possibly will affect your driver’s license number. Michigan law also requires that your driver’s license and voter registration address be the same. The Voter Registration File or Qualified Voter File and the Driver’s License file are connected. If a change is made to your license it will also change your voter registration. Updates to your driver’s license or voter registration can be made at any Secretary of State office throughout Michigan.
You can also download the pdf of the voter registration form by going to the Secretary of State website: www.michigan.gov/sos. The form needs to be filled out in its entirety, signed and mailed to the Delta Township Clerk’s Office at 7710 West Saginaw Hwy., Lansing, MI 48917. *THE VOTER REGISTRATION FORM CANNOT BE COMPLETED ON-LINE!* You must print the form, complete it in its entirety and either mail or deliver it to the Delta Township Clerk’s Office.
To vote, simply appear at your assigned polling place on Election Day. The polls are open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. Your Voter Identification Card lists your precinct number and your assigned polling location. You will vote at the same precinct locations for all elections conducted in Delta Township. If you do not receive a Voter Identification Card within three weeks after registering, contact the Clerk’s Office regarding your voter registration status. You may also check your status on the Michigan Voter Information Center website at www.michigan.gov/sos and click on the voter information center.
