The goals of the Delta Township Senior Council are to seek improvement to the township through community projects and encourage education of seniors regarding township programs and amenities. The Senior Council consists of Senior Representatives, age 50 and up, who are residents of Delta Township.

The RSVP Bridge to Wellness is re-starting a Walking Club for the spring and summer. Walks will originate at the Delta Township Library, and walkers will go down the pathway through Sharp Park. No registration is necessary. Just bring comfortable shoes and dress for the weather! Every Tuesday from 11a.m.-12 p.m. This event is sponsored by RSVP, with support from the Michigan Health Endowment Fund.

- October 10th: Textile Artist and certified Zentangle instructor, Jane Reiter, will discuss her art and lead attendees through a hands-on Zentangle lesson.
- October 17th: Special performance by actors from the Starlight Dinner Theatre: Farce of Habit.
- October 24th: Join Robert Muladore, retired Michigan State Police Trooper and author of Tuebor: I Will Defend – An Anatomy of a Michigan State Police Trooper, to discuss his book and experiences as a State Trooper.
October 6th: Scarecrow Project sponsored by the Delta Township Senior Council and the Delta 39er’s
Like Scarecrows? (And who doesn’t?) Come on over to the Delta Enrichment Center on October 6 at 10 a.m. to create a few of your own. Members of the Senior Council will work with the Delta 39’ers to design and assemble scarecrows that will be placed around the Township during the month of October. A fun fall activity! Have old pants, shirts, skirts, hats or other scarecrow type items hanging around your house? Donations would be appreciated. The Delta Play in the Park Day (co-sponsored by the Delta Township Senior Council and the Delta Township Parks and Recreation Department) is planned for the enjoyment of all ages. The event will be held Saturday, August 26th, 1-4pm at Sharp Park. Your active participation can help this event be a success. Come help us “Play in the Park”. This event will give you an opportunity to share your hobby with others. We are looking for volunteers to help with the listed activities: Hula hoop contest, Reading , Gardening, Bicycling, Bird watching, Chair exercises, Coloring for adults , Crafts, Dance, Healthy eating, Genealogy, Jazercise, Juggling, Choral music, Chess, Art painting, Quilting, Running/jogging, Walking, Tai Chi, Winemaking, Woodcarving, Yoga, Zumba, Collecting Model Trains, Chalk art, Face painting, Soft ball, Cornhole and Tennis.
