Congratulations to Cakes A Bloomin', our December 2021 Business of the Month! “Cakes-A- Bloomin was founded in 1974 by Jody Love. Our store has moved a few times, but we are so happy to call Delta Township our home for the past 8 and half years. Jody still decorates 95% of the cakes we make. Her staff follows her personal recipes including her whipped daily signature buttercream icing. It is heartwarming to be able to help generations of families celebrate special events. “The Brew Cafe' turns 3 this December and has the same owner as the tattoo shop upstairs, Ministry Ink. Our mantra is Connection, Community, Coffee. Our mission is to create an atmosphere that cultivates an organic & authentic community. We proudly partner with Sozo Coffee Roasting out of Ionia and love their devotion to the coffee farmers, wanting to support them & their families as much as possible. We are so thankful at the honor to be November Business of the month and the chance to be highlighted in this community. It is our pleasure to serve & be a part of Delta and West Lansing. We both thank you for the recognition and hope to serve the community for many years to come. Delta Township has been a great place to open and operate our business over the past 6 years, the support from the township and community members have been outstanding! The idea to open a Once Upon A Child store came to us in May of 2014 by simply recognizing the need for a store like ours in the community. At Once Upon A Child, we buy and sell children’s clothes, shoes, toys, and equipment at a discounted retail price, sometimes up to 70% off. We receive the inventory in our store from purchasing items directly from our customers by paying them cash for items they no longer need. Many times, customers choose to shop in our store as their “buy” is being processed, then a simple trade can take place. We like to be a convenient place for individuals to sell their gently used items and also be a place to find new items. Our motto is Sell.Buy.Repeat. Of course, we have to give a HUGE shoutout to all of our fabulous employees who work hard at keeping our store running efficiently and making sure that all racks are full, organized and ready to be shopped. We sure couldn’t do it without them!

Business operations began in 2016 and in 2017 moved to Delta Township. “The move enabled our business to take off like never before and created enough demand for our product that we soon realized we needed to expand operations. We were the first food truck to be licensed in Delta Township before our move to a storefront. We are now in our fourth year in Delta Township and look forward to many more years serving the community where we live and work.
