Senior Citizen Program

 

The Delta/Waverly 39ers program is an energetic and vibrant program that serves people ages 50 and over from Delta Township, Waverly School District, and surrounding areas.

There is no fee to become a member, just come join us!

 

Delta/Waverly Activities Office: The office is located within the Waverly Community Room, located in the southeast section of Waverly East Intermediate School, 3131 West Michigan Avenue.

Luncheons

Reservations are required and must be called in by noon the day before you wish to attend.  To make a reservation or request a menu, call the office at 517.484.5600.  Individuals ages 60 and older can receive a free meal through Tri-County Office on Aging (donations accepted, suggested donation is $2)

Monday/Wednesday/Friday at 12 p.m.

$5 charge for ages 59 and under.

Included with the luncheons are programs that include bingo parties, quizzes, cards, and games, plus occasional speakers or musical entertainment and theme parties.  A small activity fee is charged for bingo or other special programs that may take place after the luncheon.

39ers Book Club

This free book club meets once per month.  You will select the books as a group, read them during the month, and have lively discussions about what you've read.  Call for a book list.  Discussions are led by Kathy Nuss from the Delta Township District Library and are held in the Board Room of the District Library, located at 5130 Davenport Drive in Delta Township.

Last Tuesday of each month - 10-11 a.m.

The Comeback Club

Sparrow Health Systems sponsors the support group which provides a meeting place for survivors and the family and friends of survivors who have brain or spine disease, physically damaging injury, or health concerns due to the aging process

Third Friday of each month - 10-11 a.m.

Call 517.484.5650 to be put on the mailing list or to obtain a flyer for any of the trips.  Mailings will be sent out quarterly.

You may register  at any time for 50+

classes and trips.

White Christmas at the Fox Theatre and Canterbury Village

The classic holiday tradition WHITE CHRISTMAS is coming to the Fox Threatre in time for the 2008 holiday season.  Trip includes motor coach transportation, lunch and shopping at Canterbury Village and the show.  Registration and payment required by October 13, 2008.
