Delta Township Senior Council

The goals of the Delta Township Senior Council are to seek improvement to the township through community projects and encourage education of seniors regarding township programs and amenities. The Senior Council consists of Senior Representatives, age 50 and up, who are residents of Delta Township.

Senior Council Application

The RSVP Bridge to Wellness is re-starting a Walking Club for the spring and summer. Walks will originate at the Delta Township Library, and walkers will go down the pathway through Sharp Park. No registration is necessary. Just bring comfortable shoes and dress for the weather!  Every Tuesday from 11a.m.-12 p.m.  This event is sponsored by RSVP, with support from the Michigan Health Endowment Fund.

Coffee with the Council  Come join us for an informal gathering with a variety of topics.  We are taking a summer break but will resume September 14.  Other fall dates will be October 12 and November 9. We meet at 10:30 a.m. at the Enrichment Center.  Check our Facebook page for specific details.

Lunchtime Lectures
Join us at the Library for weekly online lectures featuring the world’s most influential thinkers, creators, makers and doers speaking at Google offices around the world. Library Lecture Series Co-Sponsored with the Delta Township District Library, Delta Township Parks & Recreation and Delta Township Senior Council

Pizzazz in the Park will be held Wednesday, June 14th at 6pm at the Sharp Park Shelter.  Come and enjoy this fun family event painting rocks to be put on display in the flower beds at Sharp Park. Rocks, paint and instruction will be provided or you can bring your own. Learn how to paint “Kindness Rocks” as well as other types.  This event is open to all and is Co-Sponsored by the Delta Township Senior Council and the Delta Township Parks and Recreation Department.

Delta Township Senior Council Quarterly Get Together June 21, 2017
All Delta Township Senior Citizens are cordially invited to attend the Delta Township Senior Council Quarterly Get Together on June 21, 2017 6 p.m.-7:30 p.m. in the Elmwood Room at the Delta Township Library – Karen Kafantaris, Associate State Director of AARP will be our guest speaker. She will discuss the positive impacts of creating communities for families, young adults, and seniors.

The Delta Play in the Park Day (co-sponsored by the Delta Township Senior Council and the Delta Township Parks and Recreation Department) is planned for the enjoyment of all ages.  The event will be held Saturday, August 26th, 1-4pm at Sharp Park.  Your active participation can help this event be a success. Come help us “Play in the Park”. This event will give you an opportunity to share your hobby with others.  We are looking for volunteers to help with the listed activities: Hula hoop contest, Reading , Gardening, Bicycling, Bird watching, Chair exercises, Coloring for adults , Crafts, Dance, Healthy eating, Genealogy, Jazercise, Juggling, Choral music, Chess, Art painting, Quilting, Running/jogging, Walking, Tai Chi, Winemaking, Woodcarving, Yoga, Zumba, Collecting Model Trains, Chalk art, Face painting, Soft ball, Cornhole and Tennis.  Contact information to assist with these activities:  Jim Kirschensteiner; kirschen.a@sbcglobal.net (517) 281-1274; Jim Hughes; jhughes@sriservices.com (317) 727-9588; Wibert Fobbs; fobbsart@gmail.com (517) 755-7393.  Delta Township Senior Council events are open to all.
