Mary Clark was recognized by the Delta Waverly Rotary Club for her “service beyond self” as the coordinator of the Victim Advocates of Eaton County. Victim Advocates are always on call, day, night or holiday. Mary and the other 11 Advocates sacrifice their personal time to console and support victims of crime and accidents. Eaton County Sheriff Tom Reich whose office sponsors the Victim Advocates Program and Delta Patrol Lt. Mark Wriggelsworth were present to show their grateful admiration for Mary Clark and all the Advocates. Lloyd Scherarer of Great Lakes Christian College, a long time Victim Advocate, was also recognized.
Mary Clark is well known in our community for her many years of remarkable public service. As the Director of Big Brothers/Big Sisters, she instituted a major improvement in training of volunteers and improving the professionalism of staff. As the Vice President of Capital Area United Way, she provided strength and focus to rebuild the agency’s public image of a very embarrassed community institution. As the current Delta Township Clerk, Mary is determined to assure reliable and effective elections in Delta Township as well as running an efficient Office of the Clerk.
