Phase II Stormwater Program
and the Grand River Watershed Plan
Representatives from the Grand River (Delta Township), the Red Cedar River, and the Looking Glass River Watersheds have been meeting for the purpose of responding to proposed actions designed to meet previously determined goals and objectives for each of the watersheds.
The following is a list of the goals:
- Educate the public about the importance of protecting and managing the watershed.
- Provide a sustainable and equitable funding mechanism.
- Encourage water quality-friendly development.
- Restore and enhance habitat for wildlife and aquatic animals.
- Protect and increase wetlands.
- Provide pollution prevention/good housekeeping practices for municipal operations.
- Encourage water quality friendly agricultural practices.
Everything humans pour on the ground or in the storm drain ends up in the lakes, rivers, and streams. We need your help to keep our watershed clean.
To report suspicious activity, or if you see someone dumping anything but clean water in the storm sewers, streets, rivers, or even on the ground, please contact Dennis Williams, Township Engineer at (517) 323-8540 or visit www.mywatersheds.org to learn more about this program.
