Ball Diamond Reservations
The Parks and Recreation Department will begin accepting diamond reservations on April 1st of each year for 8 of its softball fields, field conditions permitting. Reservations can be made up to two weeks in advance. Time slots for reservations are available weekday evenings and weekends for two hour time blocks beginning on the odd hour. Reservations are free of charge and are on a first come-first serve basis. Teams or groups are limited to one reservation per week, with the week running Monday-Sunday. Please call the Parks and Recreation Department to make reservations. **Information on creating a reservation request online coming soon**
Reservation Policy
1. All diamonds must be reserved through the Delta Township Parks & Recreation Department Office. Hours: 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday. Phone: 323-8555.
2. Diamonds may be reserved up to two weeks in advance. Practice reservations will be issued on a first come, first served basis.
3. Teams may reserve only one practice session per week with the week running Sunday through Monday.
4. Diamond Practice Reservation Permits are issued for all practice sessions and are sent to teams as a reservation confirmation.
5. Time slots for reservations are as follows: Monday-Friday: 5-7 p.m., 7 p.m.-dusk; Saturday-Sunday: 9-11 a.m., 11 a.m.-1 p.m., 1-3 p.m., 3-5 p.m., 7-dusk. The diamonds will be available without reservation on a first come, first served basis on weekdays before 5 p.m. This excludes those diamonds which have been prepared for league or tournament play.
6. Bases and lines are not provided with practice reservations.
The Delta Township Parks and Recreation Department will make every effort to make the diamonds available for practice by the first week in April. Field playability is largely dependent upon the weather. This department will make the early season determination on a day by day basis and this information will be available on the rain-out number 323-8550 after 4:30 p.m. When fields are deemed unplayable by this department teams must stay off the entire field. Any team found ignoring this request will not be allowed to make reservations for the remainder of the year.
Lights and bases are only provided for league games, or with a fee of $25 you can have the field floated, lined, and bases put out, or for $25 have the lights turned on. This is subject to staff availability depending on the time of year. This applies to the fields available for rental only (Grand Woods Park is not available for this service).
