Community Center

The Delta Township Community Center is located on the Northeast corner of Canal Road and Willow Highway, one mile North of Saginaw Highway (7550 West Willow Highway, Delta Township, MI  48917). The Community Center has a bi-level floor plan. The upper level is carpeted with a small dance floor. The lower level has a tile floor with kitchen facilities. The entire building is handicap accessible. It is an air-conditioned, non-smoking facility. Table and chairs are included with any rental. The Community Center can accommodate groups up to a maximum of 170 people.

Community Center Fees

The Community Center is available for rental on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Friday rentals are from 2 p.m.-1 a.m., the fee is $225 for residents of Delta Township [$400 on Holidays(1)] and $275 for non-residents [$500 on Holidays(1)].

Saturday rentals are from 8 a.m.-1 a.m., the fee is $400 for residents of Delta Township and $500 for non-residents.
People renting the facility on Saturday have the option of renting the Friday before at a discounted price [Saturday extension(2)]. The rental on Friday is from 2 p.m.-1 a.m., the fee is $125 for residents of Delta Township and $175 for non-residents.

Sunday rentals are from 2 p.m.-12 a.m., the fee is $225 for residents of Delta Township [$400 on Holidays(1)] and $275 for non-residents [$500 on Holidays(1)].

1) Holidays are any National holidays as well as dates that Delta Township offices are closed and Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.
2) When booking a Saturday, the Friday evening prior is offered at a discount if the date is available unless it is a holiday. If so, holiday fee will be charged.

Room Sizes
Upstairs main room – 37′-8″ x 60′ = 2260sqft (carpeted except for dance floor)
Dance Floor – approximately 16′ x 20′
Downstairs main room – 25′ x 55′ = 1375sqft (white vinyl tile)
Upstairs ceiling – 14’6″ to peak, 12′ to A/C duct, 9’10″ at wall

Tables/Chairs
6′ Rectangular tables – approximately 40, seats around 6
5′ Round tables – approximately 20, seats 6-8 comfortably
Folding chairs – 125
Stacking – 75 (new in 12/99)
These are split between upper and lower level storage rooms.

General Notes
There are about 70 parking spaces.
There is no public phone.
The building is handicap-accessible through use of the elevator. Note that the curtains on both floors must be shut (magnets engaged) for the elevator to operate. Elevator may be used for passengers only.
On the upper level there are separate Men’s and Women’s restrooms in addition to a large handicap-accessible restroom. The handicap restroom also has a baby-changing station (new in 12/99).
The building is air-conditioned, set to around 70 degrees in the summer. The thermostat is located in the upper floor main room, just to the left when you walk in the door. You may adjust the temperature if needed.
Your key will open the electrical room on the lower level (rear right corner) in the event of a blown fuse.
By code, the building capacity is 266. We do not recommend more than 170.
